You'll notice I changed the heading. Used to be You Can't Wear Nail Polish to a Surgery, after a comment made by AG's friend AT. Then A Garden in a Garden, after a comment made by AG herself. Now that Simon Blissout and Matthew TWANBOC have rechristened it (well, Simon and Tom Popular call it Matos's Lair, but whatever) I am playing along--since my presence in the muzak blogosphere, always fairly nebulous at best, has been diminished so greatly thanks to professional obligations, I figure I should keep whatever toehold I still have there, y'know?

I finished the book two weeks ago.
What a relief. I'm trying to take it as easy as possible outside of the job as I can, though this weekend and the next day or so were/are busy with freelance stuff. In the meantime, read this, Chris Heath's 1991 Details profile of Prince, the best piece I've ever read on him, and one that lays waste to my forthcoming book. Which I think is pretty good (not great, not terrible, but pretty good, which is all I can reasonably ask for given that I've never done anything near like it before) anyway.
